The economy of Meluri District is predominantly agrarian, with rice, maize, vegetables, and fruits forming the mainstay of agricultural production. In addition to farming, the people engage in livestock rearing, traditional salt making, and a variety of handicrafts, including weaving, pottery, woodcraft, and the production of bamboo and cane items, which contribute to both household needs and local livelihoods.
