ABOUT DISTRICT
Meluri district is primarily inhabited by the Pochury Naga tribe. Pochury language is primarily spoken and the population is predominantly Christian. The Pochury tribe was formally recognised on 19th April, 1990 . Pochury Nomenclature is an amalgamation of three ethnic community, namely Sapo, Küchuri and Khwiry.
